This question is a good place like any to start from, why make memories? my immediate response to this is why not make memories, especially with everything that has happened in the world due to COVID-19.
Making memories with the ones we love is so much important now than before, because one thing I hope the pandemic has taught us is our loved ones will not be with us forever, so we must cherish and appreciate them while they are still here with us.
Trying not to dwell too much on the negative impact of COVID-19, one positive to be taken from it is the people you have basically been living with under the same roof since the enforced lockdown began in whatever part of the world you live in, are the main people you should be making memories with.
I am conscious some people have been under lockdown alone, so I will alter my statement above to suit this situation. As a person alone by yourself under lockdown the people you speak to and send messages to on almost a daily basis through whatever media channel are the people that matter the most to you and you should be making memories with them.
So, if you have not already decided to do this, start thinking of ways to remember how you survive as a unit or a family under this unusual times. What did you do or want to do together as a family? do something today you may not have done a lot of before the lockdown for example give loads of hugs to your children and partner, call your parents, siblings, grandparents and close friends.
Tell them how much you love and appreciate them by:
- Laughing together
- Playing together
- Praying together
- Taking walks together
- Watch a movie together
- Cook, Bake and Eat together
The list is endless, but the most important thing about creating memories is to do your best to make them happy ones, because hopefully after these uncertain period has passed and become a distance memory, it will be the happy memories that we intentionally set out to make with our loved ones that stands the test of time and put a smile on our face whenever we remember them.
So until we walk down making memories again, please go now and make some memorable ones with the people you love.
